Iconic footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has launched a new footwear collection; the latest addition to his growing brand, CR7, reports the London Evening Standard.

Hand-crafted by Portuguese specialists, Ronaldo expressed his passion behind the project.

He said: “I wanted to make sure every shoe was something that I loved and would be proud to wear. I worked really hard on this collection to make sure that the range is both stylish and versatile.”

"I think there’s a shoe in the range for every formal occasion to compliment every man. I'd say my favourite if I have to choose is the jazz dressy oxford brogue as it's very easy to wear. But then I love them all, they all have pride of place in my wardrobe."

The brand

The Real Madrid star launched his CR7 brand in 2006 with a single fashion boutique on the island of Madeira, Portugal. CR7 then expanded to Lisbon in 2008 before a partnership with both Danish company, JBS Texile Group and New York Fashion designer, Richard Chai in 2013 led to the release of his range of underwear. More recently, a collection of shirts were added to the brand.

Ronaldo insists he is always “very involved” in the design process himself.

Top of the world

This only adds to the great year the 30-year old winger is having, once again with more than a goal a game on average and sitting atop La Liga; despite slipping up on their last time out against Villarreal.
