James Rodriguez takes to Instagram to display his skills

James Rodriguez is on the road to recovery from a broken metatarsal - and has taken to Instagram to prove it.

The Real Madrid midfielder took to social media to give fans a glimpse of his rehabilitation. Rodriguez broke a bone in his foot during the 2-1 win against Sevilla in February.

With Madrid currently engulfed in something of a crisis having only taken one point from a possible six, the news will be most welcome for the Madrid faithful.

The caption on the photo - “Cada día entrenando con mas intensidad, progresivamente” - roughly translates to “Each day training with more intensity gradually.”

The Colombian is likely to miss the rest of March - including the Clasico at the Nou Camp - but if Madrid progress against Schalke tomorrow in the Champions League, he could still have a big part to play in the remainder of the season.

Madrid are reeling after defeat at Athletic Bilbao at the weekend saw Barcelona regain top spot in La Liga. This comes on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to Villarreal and manager Carlo Ancelotti now finds himself under serious pressure.

They have been dumped out of the Copa Del Rey by rivals Atletico, who then proceeded to humiliate them 4-0 at the Vicente Calderon in February in La Liga.

Ancelotti needs a performance at the Bernabeu tomorrow night against the Germans. Although 2-0 up from the first-leg, the home crowd will still want to see a show - a stage and an atmosphere where Rodriguez would feel right at home.
