Derrick Rose gives Bulls fans an injury update

Football News

Times have certainly got tough for the Chicago Bulls lately as they slipped to a three game losing streak tonight.

The Bulls lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 101-91 as they continue to hold on to the #4 seed in the Eastern conference.

The Bulls had been one of the favourites to win the NBA Championship prior to the season and although they can't be ruled out, they are a long way behind the league's frontrunners.

The Atlanta Hawks have already clinched a play-off perch whilst the Golden State Warriors are considered the best team in the league.

Whilst teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Grizzlies have risen, Chicago's early season form has halted somewhat.

At 39-26, the Bulls are still doing well this season but there are very few who would disagree that they're missing point guard Derrick Rose.

Rose is currently on the sidelines having undergone surgery on a leg injury on february 27th and he has addressed the possibility of a return before the play-offs.

""I think so, that's the plan.... Whenever I feel right, that's when I'm going to step back." - Rose on his return

If Rose manages to return prior to the Bulls play-off run, he will be a major boost ahead of the post-season, one that many teams may be unable to match.

If he can take Chicago to their absolute best then they will be a challenge to any Eastern conference team they come up against.

A strange memorial

With Rose possibly just a few weeks away from his return, he could be set to make one particular set of Bulls fans happy.

Quite strangely, some Chicago fans have actually placed a memorial to Rose underneath an underpass in Chicago.

Quite a strange thing to see given the fact that Rose is alive and well and he will be returning but it's hard not to be impressed by the passion of the Bulls fans.
