GiveMeSport brings you the top headlines from the WWE Universe today...

With WrestleMania XXXI on the horizon there are constant rumors, speculation and updates regarding the huge event, and today is no different with the WWE having reportedly put an end to one match.

Elsewhere there are reports of the WWE eyeing up new talent for it's roster, while one Superstar put rivalry aside to welcome back a former ally.

We begin with WrestleMania 31 news. With the big event just two weeks away it looks like the WWE has scrapped plans for a match between Goldust and Stardust.

As reported by Wrestlezone, WWE are planning to pull the plug on the match after officials felt the angle was struggled to gain traction.

Goldust’s WrestleMania night could yet get even worse too with reports suggesting he won’t be included in the Intercontinental Title Ladder Match either. At best it looks like the Superstar will have to settle for a place in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

New talent

Elsewhere, the WWE could be set to raid a rival promotion for talent once again.

The company is said to be keeping a very close eye on Ring of Honor stars The Briscoes. The duo has been with Ring of Honor since 2002 but could be tempted by the chance to join NXT. If they did jump across to the WWE Universe the brothers would be following in the footsteps of the likes of Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens), Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro) and of course CM Punk.

A well done of sorts

And finally, WWE Superstar The Miz has congratulated his former prodigy Alex Riley on making his return to in-ring action. The Miz referenced Riley’s decision to turn his back on the Superstar four years ago as having held back Riley so far.

Typical of The Miz's arrogant character, he wasn't going to let his fellow wrestler off too lightly as he made his big comeback.

What do you think WWE fans? Are Vince and co right to axe the Goldust vs Stardust match, and who do you want to see replace them at WrestleMania 31? Let us know in the comments section below...
