The latest addition to the Dallas Cowboys roster has been confirmed by the player's agent himself.

Linebacker Andrew Gachkar will join the franchise for the 2015 NFL season, arriving at 'America's Team' after spending the first four years of his pro career with the San Diego Chargers.

It was the player's representatives,Dave Canter of DEB Management, who confirmed the deal on Sunday aftertoon - tweeting their congratulations to Gachkar.

Gachkar made a name for himself on special teams duty but saw his role increase on the Chargers' defense last season. He has 120 combined tackles in his career and one forced fumble - whilst also registering a touchdown on a returned fumble last season versus the Saint Louis Rams.

Fox reporter Mike Garafolo is predicting big things for Gachkar in his new role in Dallas.

Garafolo also noted that the contract signed stands at $5.5 million over two seasons.

On record

Andrew Gachkar himself has taken to social media in the aftermath to both speak of his excitement at the new opportunity in Dallas, and thank the Chargers for his four years there.

Many see the signing as insurance for Cowboys LB Rolando McClain who is yet to re-sign with the team but Gachkar will also improve Dallas' special teams. He made 14 special teams tackles last season - the Cowboys best was 12 by Harris.
