Arsene Wenger fears for pitch ahead of Champions League clash

Arsenal head into tonight’s Champions League fixture against AS Monaco knowing that nothing but the very best will give them any hope of qualification for the next round. Yet speaking ahead of the match Arsene Wenger revealed a worrying thought playing on his mind with regards to the potential quality of the pitch. Having been in charge at the Stade Louis II Stadium earlier on in his career Wenger knows better than most the problems Monaco have had maintaining the ground, and fears it could be the undoing of his optimistic Gunners tonight. In transfer-related news resurgent midfielder Francis Coquelin has revealed that he didn’t want to join Arsenal when he first had a trial at the club a few years ago. At the time the 23-year-old was an unknown entity outside of France and has admitted he was daunted by his big move.
