New England Patriots have let go of plenty of talent since the end of the 2014 NFL season.

The Patriots will be hit hard by the departures of star cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner, while the release of veteran defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will hit them hard on and off the field.

Out of those three stars, it is Wilfork's departure that will hurt the Patriots fans the most. Wilfork was once a cornerstone of the Pats defense, before his quality of play dwindled somewhat in the last couple of seasons.

New England fans will miss him dearly, but so will Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who took to his own Facebook page today to wish Wilfork the best in his future endeavours.

The defensive tackle is certainly not going to be retiring any time soon, and he has signed on with a dominant defensive outfit in the Houston Texans.

While Brady wishes one of his best friends on and off the field good luck in the future, he still hopes he will go easy on him in his remaining seasons with the Texans.

"One decade bookended by two rings... To my longtime teammate and friend, Vince Wilfork - you’ll be missed, bud! Take it easy on me in Houston next year! ‪#‎family‬," Tom Brady said via his official Facebook page today.

Wilfork, Revis and Browner's departures leave New England's defense a little light to say the least, but the Patriots are likely thinking about the future, and will be expected to bring in some promising defensive players in the 2015 NFL Draft.
