The official first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament hasn't even tipped off yet but already we have been treated to the most embarrassing moment of this year's March Madness. The red-cheek inducing moment came during the 'First Four' contest between 11 seeds Dayton and Boise State, and belonged to Flyers forward Dyshawn Pierre.

Pants down

Never has the saying "you've been caught with your pants down" rang so true in a sporting arena as, after going up for a rebound, a wardrobe malfunction left Pierre with his shorts round his ankles and exposed in front of a national TV audience. You can check out the video for yourself further down this article.

The moment itself came during the second half of last night's crucial contest and, considering the state of play at the time, Pierre must have thought his night couldn't get worse.

Dayton were trailing 43-50 with just 5 minutes 45 seconds left on the clock as they desperately attempted to keep their perfect home record, and NCAA Tournament hopes, alive.

Left exposed

It was actually his teammate who was to blame for the embarrassing situation - a fellow Dayton player's foot dragging down Pierre's bright orange shorts in perfect comedy timing before the packed out arena.

The Dayton cheerleaders though didn't seem too offended.

Even the game's commentators were left in shock after the truly bizarre moment. Check out the video for yourself below...

Bouncing back

Credit to Dyshawn Pierre himself who didn't let the 'pantsing' affect him too much - taking the embarrassing moment on the chin and smiling as he ran the ball back up the court to continue Dayton's comeback attempt.

And it was Pierre who had the last laugh too with the Flyers producing a rousing comeback to defeat Boise State 56-55 to ensure it is they who meet no. 6 seed Providence.

As for the Canadian forward? He ended the game with nine points, six rebounds and 4-7 from field goal range in his 40 minutes.
