Thierry Henry dresses like Moss from the IT Crowd, but why?

Football News

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry popped up on Sky Sports News earlier today in a costume that left French football royalty looking like a cross between Austin Powers and Moss from The IT Crowd, all to hand out an award at a school in Merthyr Tydfil.

Henry was hardly an international man of mystery though, attempting to disguise himself as a teacher to give one lucky pupil an award for Sky's Student of the Year.

The ensemble could have been mistaken as a recruitment drive for a new Beatles tribute act, which unsurprisingly left a classroom full of kids sceptical before the problem of a French accent was added to the mix.

Sky's new poster boy branches out

Emma Morgan of Pen-Y-Dre High School was the lucky recipient of the prize, after rediscovering a passion for swimming that helped her win a silver medal at the European 'Superschool's competition in Sweden.

The lengths Henry went to in order to deliver the good news were comedy gold, delivering a moment which makes us openly question who is in charge of costume at Sky Sports and are they happy in that role?

Style icon status lost forever?

Henry was used as FHM's front cover star for their Spring/Summer collections issue last month, thank heavens he got that shoot in the bag before donning today's wonderful wig.

Quite brilliantly Henry's trip to the valleys has got Twitter working overtime to come up with a strong cast of lookalikes, with even Velma from Scooby Doo getting a mention.

If you can think of anyone better feel free to get in touch, with out personal favourite Richard Ayoade's brilliant Moss from the IT Crowd at this stage.
