Football News

If you’re at all interested in the ongoings of Chelsea Football Club then you’ve landed at exactly the right place.

With news coming thick and fast ahead of what’s sure to be a summer of frenetic transfer activity, it can be difficult to get the football information you’re after all in one place. Never fear though, for every ailment there is a remedy, and we’ve got the perfect solution if reading the latest Blues gossip is your tonic of choice.

Without further ado we present today’s Chelsea roundup. The term ‘news bomb’ doesn’t do it justice, let me tell you.

Arsenal think they can convince Cech

It’s with a heavy heart that we lead our roundup with the news that Arsenal are convinced they can lure Petr Cech away from west London, and have three decisive factors fuelling their confidence. Jose Mourinho has elected to side with Thibaut Courtois has his number one man for the majority of this campaign and, all things considered, the future of one of Stamford Bridge’s most leal servants isn’t looking pretty.

First and foremost the Gunners believe that location could prove to be the difference between Cech opting for them or choosing to move abroad. The 32-year-old has been living in London for the past decade, and uprooting his family and heading to pastures new isn’t likely to be chief amongst his list of priorities.

Next up there’s a far more football-focused metric to consider; Champions League participation. Arsenal haven’t yet secured their place in Europe’s premier competition but it’s a given that they will be competing until the last day to ensure they’re there or thereabouts. Given Arsene Wenger’s fantastic qualification record there’s no reason to bet against them, and playing in that tournament could be a deciding factor in Cech’s decision.

Lastly, Arsenal are drawing confidence in their hunt from Cech due to the fact that they can offer him what no overseas club can, no matter how big; the chance to continue winning trophies in England. It’s pretty much a combination of the first two points, but who's counting? The Daily Telegraph certainly aren’t.

Hazard thinks Mourinho was wrong

Next up in our run down we turn to Chelsea’s current favourite son; Eden Hazard. The Belgium star has hinted that Mourinho was wrong to let Kevin De Bruyne go last January, with the playmaker currently setting the Bundesliga alight.

Hazard suggested that it was a shame his compatriot had been frozen out at Stamford Bridge, and tipped him to have a great career. We hesitate to claim he’s saying Mourinho had made a big transfer mistake, but let’s face it, it looks like he has.

Hazard on Cech

We finish up with something that has elements of both previous stories, as Hazard has let his feelings known about Cech’s current position with the Blues. The 24-year-old suggested that he would look to leave the club if he found himself in the Czech international's shoes, describing his teammate as a good player.
