WrestleMania 31 is a few days and everything is still up in the air with regards to who will be walking away from Levi's Stadium with the titles.
John Cena will try and break Rusev's undefeated streak for the United State title while Roman Reigns takes on the recently re-signed Brock Lesnar
Daniel Bryan is the favourite to win the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett, Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, R-Truth, Luke Harper and Stardust. With Brock Lesnar back part-time the feeling seems to be that Bryan can main event shows in his absence with the IC title around his waist.
But according to a report today from PWInsider Elite, subscription required, top WWE officials have serious concerns about Bryan's long term future with the company.
There's been heavy scrutiny from WWE fans as to why Bryan - the most over wrestler in the company right now - is not fighting for the most prestigious title in the WWE. Well it might be because the higher ups are seriously worried about Bryan's health and his ability to stay injury free.
Long Term Issues
Bryan chose a unique form of rehabbing for his neck/shoulder injury last year and there is a strong fear within WWE that his problems could become recurring issues due to the rehab that Bryan wanted rather than the normal rehab.
There's concern that the rehab Bryan chose is not a long-term permanent fix and just a short-term fix that could cause the problems to relapse. Apparently it is likely that Bryan would be in a more prominent position at WrestleMania this year if WWE officials weren't worried that the elbow issues will come back.
This makes sense when you think about it from a business level. Bryan won the title at 'Mania last year and immediately had to give it up. That's not best for business, to turn a phrase, and if the WWE can't rely on him to be out there week in, week out then it would be near impossible for them to make him the top babyface in the company, as sad as it seems.
