Gareth Bale desperate to stay at Real Madrid

Gareth Bale continues to be linked with a transfer away from Real Madrid this summer, as both Chelsea and Manchester United supposedly consider bids, but the player is desperate to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bale has become the scapegoat for Madrid’s failings this season - again enduring much criticism after last weekend’s defeat at Camp Nou - and his future in the Spanish capital would seem to be in serious doubt.

There has been more speculation this weekend that there are bids being prepared, with Chelsea reportedly ready to spend a club record £75 million, but Bale does not want to give up on his dream just yet.

This is information relayed by Shaun Custis of The Sun, but it may be that a decision on Bale’s future beyond this season will be taking out of the hands of the Welshman.

"He doesn't want it to end. If you talk to his connections, they say that absolutely no way does he want to leave Real Madrid, that he wants to stay," Custis said on Sunday Supplement.

"Let's be honest, we knew it was his dream to go out and play in Madrid and he is not going to give it up after two years if he can help it. There is no reason for him to give it up at the moment and he doesn’t have to.

"There is no will on his part to leave, at all. There is almost a stubbornness to say 'I am sticking this out, no matter what happens. I am going to stay.' That's his feeling."

It is only natural that Bale wishes to remain in Madrid but accepting a transfer away from the club would be the most sensible course of action, assuming he has lost the support of the crowd for good.

Bale deserves to be at a club that will fully appreciate him, and he would most certainly get that upon a return to the Premier League with either Chelsea or Manchester United.

If it is indeed adulation that he desires then it would be Old Trafford where he would earn it by the bucketload given how desperate the supporters are to fully get behind a new Manchester United hero.

Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria arrived last summer but have failed to convince and the stage would appear set for Bale to swoop in and establish himself as a great for the Red Devils.

Manchester United fans: do you think Gareth Bale would be appreciated at Old Trafford?
