WWE: Main Event was changed part way through WrestleMania 31

WrestleMania 31 lived up to it's name as the biggest event of the year and according to reports today, the most iconic moment of WrestleMania 31 wasn't decided upon until part way through, according to reports.

It seems Seth Rollins wasn't informed that he would be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and winning the World Championship until The Rock's segment that night. Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman and Michael Hayes all went into a room and discussed a new ending to the match, but managed to keep the main event the same except for the ending.

The original ending was for Roman Reigns to win the World Championship from Brock Lesnar, but this was believed to have been changed as early as Tuesday when Lesnar signed onto his new WWE deal.

Reigns' family anger

Roman Reigns family weren't informed that he wasn't going to win and they reacted badly to the ending, with his father Sika almost causing a scene as he let out the frustrations he had about WWE's booking.

This does seem like it was the right option for the World Championship because Brock Lesnar needed to lose the Championship, but he had been built up to such a beast that it made no sense that one man could overcome that.

Crazy scenes

Given that he was covered in blood and had already had a physical match with Reigns, it made sense that after a Curb Stomp and a Spear he would be knocked out of the ring and not pinned because then he could retain credibility and in the future he can come back and request a rematch for the title he never truly lost.

The idea is to have Rollins vs Lesnar or Roman vs Lesnar 2 at SummerSlam, but it is hard to imagine Seth being able to defeat Lesnar alone, which could see The Authority become involved and another Survivor Series situation built up.

It's hard to imagine a superstar that could come in and take the Championship away from Rollins now that their go-to guy John Cena already has a title and a rivalry that is on-going and Daniel Bryan also already has an on-going feud over his new belt.

This opens up a lot of room for more babyfaces including Reigns and Randy Orton to come and challenge Seth, but Lesnar will always be the main threat when he finally does return.

But as this has shown, this was the biggest shock of the entire event and much like last year with the streak, it was done last minute to ensure that fans left feeling like WrestleMania 31 had delivered.
