Adrian Peterson will most likely be reinstated to the NFL on April 15 following a huge meeting with the league. Should the decision go his way, which many experts expect will happen, the rumors and speculation about Peterson’s future will only intensify.
Ever since Adrian Peterson was placed on the commissioner’s exemption list last year following his child abuse charges, Peterson’s future has been looking more and more likely to be away from Minnesota.
The charges were naturally a negative news story for Peterson and the Vikings, and many in Minnesota have wanted him gone from the word go. But the fact is that he remains a Viking, and the only way it seems that he will leave the NFC North team is via a trade later this month.
Reports have suggested that Peterson wants a trade to the Dallas Cowboys, but both the Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts are rumored to be willing partners as well.
Speaking to ESPN in New York on Tuesday, Peterson opened up on the topic of his future and explained that he and his family are seeking a fresh start, which suggests he wants to leave Minnesota.
“I am anxious to start a new chapter and get on with the rest of my life,” Peterson said, adding that he’s eager to share what he and his family went through while he was out of football last year,” according to ProFootballTalk.
Although Peterson did not specify whether he wants his new chapter to be somewhere else rather than in Minnesota, it does seem more and more likely these days that he will be looking to head for pastures new.
Earlier on Tuesday, Jason Cole of Bleacher Report even revealed that Peterson’s “dream scenario” is to be traded to the Dallas Cowboys, but obviously we will have to wait and see on that one.
