WWE are currently enjoying their best part of the year as the dust has now finally settled on WrestleMania XXXI.

In the aftermath of the event, RAW and Smackdown have been reshaped by the dramatic events that took place in San Francisco.

Whilst only having one representative at the event, NXT made a showing at WrestleMania this year with Hideo Itami competing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Itami won an NXT tournament at WrestleMania Axxess after defeating both Adrian Neville and Finn Balor to advance to the big event in San Francisco.

It was a big push for Itami to be at the biggest show of the year and now it appears that with WrestleMania behind him, he may have his sights on some big prizes.

This week's episode of NXT looked over Itami's journey to WrestleMania, but the biggest hint to his future came through Twitter.

Itami tweeted out a big message to current NXT Champion Kevin Owens.

Following the footage from Axxess, there was a piece of footage which showed Itami's journey too and his performance at WrestleMania.

Never one to bow down from a challenge, Owens responded in the way that would be expected of the NXT Champion.

Another big match?

Itami and Owens are two of the biggest names in NXT these days and a clash between the two would surely draw even more attention to the brand.

Owens has already beaten Adrian Neville, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn since debuting in NXT and an encounter with Itami is pretty much the last one he has to tick off of his list.

Many expect Zayn to be the man to take the title off of Owens, but Itami would be a worthy champion and will give a stern test for the champion.
