Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj could be involved in a stunning swap deal this summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The report claims that the Belgian international, who has struggled to hold down a regular place in Louis van Gaal's side this term, faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, and could now be shipped out in a deal that would bring either of Edinson Cavani or Marquinhos, who currently ply their trade at French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain.
Cavani, who has been rated at a stunning £60 million, has been linked with a move to the Theatre of Dreams in recent time as Van Gaal goes in search of improving his front line.
United have struggled in attack at times this term, with the duo of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao failing to prove their credentials under the Dutch regime.
The PSG superstar, then, would no doubt prove a remarkable coup for the Red Devils, but it remains to be seen as to whether the club's hierarchy would be willing to offload Januzaj in the process.
However, if the report is to be believed, PSG could offer Marquinhos in any potential deal to bring Januzaj to French soil. Marquinhos, like Januzaj, is just 20-years-old, and looks set for a bright future in the game.
It certainly looks set to be an interesting summer for Januzaj, who will surely be determined to play on a regular basis next season.
Don't do it, Louis
And, even if PSG do offer either of Cavani or Marquinhos to United, the Red Devils boss shouldn't ditch Januzaj.
At the end of the day, despite a few struggles this term, the Belgian ace may well become one of the top stars in world football over the coming years, so Van Gaal should hand him a key role sooner rather than later.
Perhaps a loan deal would work, but he surely has a key role to play at Old Trafford for many years yet. Cavani or Marquinhos would be great, but it would be wrong to lose Januzaj at this stage.
