WWE have endured quite a few problems over the last year or so, and this latest one is going to be one of the ugliest. It turns out that, according to reports from TMZ Sports, three former superstars are suing WWE.
Luther Reigns, Ryan Sakoda and Big Russ McCullough are the stars alleged to have filed a lawsuit against the WWE, and the huge development will certainly be something that Chairman Vince McMahon will hate.
The suit is demanding for damages and an injunction that would stop WWE from subjecting its wrestlers to the physical punishment that is claimed by the former WWE stars in the suit.
“The lawsuit claims WWE "under the guise of providing 'entertainment' .... has for decades subjected its wrestlers to extreme physical brutality."” NoDQ reported.
"They say WWE has known for years that the in-ring work they do has resulted in dementia, Alzheimer's disease and other ailments. The suit claims WWE is in the business of "selling violence."”
Is the lawsuit warranted?
The fact that the suit argues that WWE has been responsible for physical and mental ills is even more potentially damaging for McMahon and his wrestling company, and key WWE personnel will likely work overtime to defend themselves against this lawsuit.
Luther Reigns certainly has a case to be made after he wrestled until 2006 before suffering a stroke, although he was only signed to WWE from 2003 until 2004. Ryan Sakoda was signed to WWE during the same time period, while Big Russ McCullough worked in WWE developmental before getting released in 2001.
