Wayne Rooney makes bold claim about Marouane Fellaini

He may not have enjoyed a fairytale start to his Manchester United career, but Marouane Fellaini’s performances this season have been enough to impress all but the most stoic of critics. Following his latest showing during the 4-2 derby day victory over rivals Manchester City, Red Devils captain Wayne Rooney has chipped his thoughts into the fountain of praise, suggesting his Belgian teammate is the ‘best in the world’ at bringing the ball down. It’s certainly been a massive u-turn in fortunes for Fellaini given the barrage of abuse he received in his early days at Old Trafford, but will he be phased out as Louis van Gaal looks to take his team to the next level? It remains to be seen. In transfer news Zinedine Zidane has struck United a definitive blow, insisting Gareth Bale will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer. The Welshman has been linked with an Old Trafford move, but Zidane can’t see any deal being forged.
