Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has confirmed his belief that Manchester United target Sami Khedira will be leaving Los Blancos this season, though it might not be for Old Trafford. The German international is out of contract this summer and his future looks to be away from Spain, though Calderon insisted that the prospect of him joining Schalke isn’t a done deal. The ex-Bernabeu chief told how Khedira deserved to play for a good team next year, and the likelihood is that he will, though whether or not that team will wear a red strip and play out of Manchester remains to be seen. Elsewhere Daley Blind has confirmed that Wayne Rooney had a major part to play in motivating the team prior to their derby day victory over City at the weekend, by giving an inspirational team talk moments before the players went out to the pitch. United won the game 4-2, ending a four game losing streak against their noisy neighbours.
