Ever since Louis van Gaal took over at Old Trafford Manchester United have been consistently linked with Dutch players. It makes sense really considering he’s the ex-coach of the Netherlands national team, and well.. he’s Dutch. The latest man to find himself under the transfer spotlight is PSV’s Georginio Wijnaldum, who stoked the fires of speculation by playing up the idea of moving to a big club. The 24-year-old revealed that the Premier League was an option, which opens the door to a move to United, though the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle are also interested. Elsewhere Van Gaal has confirmed that he has been planning transfers for this summer for quite some time now, presumably in a bid to ensure he’s not caught short come the end of the season. With United set for a pre-season tour of America it makes sense that he’s ahead of schedule, and fans can now look forward to an exciting period of activity.
