Damien Mizdow finally cracked at WrestleMania 31 in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and now that he and The Miz are at odds reports are suggesting that The Miz is set to be written off WWE television soon.
After months of torment as his personal assistant and great entertainment for the fans as The Miz’s stunt double, Mizdow eliminated The Miz in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and since then the two have been at each other’s throats. This coming week on Monday Night Raw, the two are expected to face off against one another in a stipulation match.
THE MIZ VS MIZDOW
The winner of the match is set to keep ‘The Miz’ persona and likeness, from his attire, to the move set from the Skull Crushing Finale to the Figure Four Leg Lock, as well as the music.
The likelihood is, The Miz will lose to Mizdow and for a while at least, Mizdow will be referred to as The Miz whilst The Miz is written off television. He’ll be taking a leave of absence in order to go and film the latest WWE Studios upcoming holiday motion picture, “Santa’s Little Helper” alongside former WWE Diva’s Champion, Paige.
Paige was also written off WWE television this past week, she won the Divas Battle Royal which meant she would go on to face WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
But instead we saw Naomi turn heel – this was because AJ Lee retired and her plans were then handed to Naomi – and her vicious attack resulted in Paige suffering an ‘injury’ and will miss Extreme Rules, The Miz is also expected to miss Extreme Rules on April 26.
She and The Miz are expected to miss around a month of in-ring action, which could easily stretch out longer if shooting requires them or if their storylines mean they could get away with staying out of the ring.
This explains why The Miz vs. Damien Mizdow is going to take place on Monday Night Raw rather than Extreme Rules; as a match with an interesting stipulation like this would certainly suit a pay-per-view especially where a character has so much unique fan support in the form of Damien Mizdow.
This is an interesting situation, and a clever move by the WWE. It’s a great way to write The Miz off television and a great way to actually keep Damien Mizdow relevant as it was feared that the end of this feud could result in Mizdow falling back into mid or lower card insignificance.
But now Mizdow can run with ‘The Miz’ character, continue to get it over and their feud can start as soon as The Miz returns and we could see them clash at another pay-per-view where The Miz could win back his name and image.
