Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is set to snub interest from a number of top European sides to a new contract with the club.
This has been reported by the Daily Mail, who claim the quartet of PSG, Juventus, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven have all made offers for the services of the talented youngster, who runs out of his current contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season.
At 19, Pereira is highly regarded at the Theatre of Dreams, despite only being handed a handful of first team opportunities this season.
He has, however, been included in Louis van Gaal's first team squad on a number of occasions of late, with the Red Devils seemingly looking to keep him at the club for the long term.
The versatile midfielder has often starred for the club's Under-21 side, who sit at the top of their division, throughout the course of the campaign. In fact, on Monday night, as the young team beat Fulham by four goals to one at Craven Cottage, Pereira produce a fine performance, as the likes of Robin van Persie and Adnan Januzaj also enjoyed strong games.
It certainly appears, then, that the player has now decided to continue at Old Trafford after rejecting the club's first offer.
United fans, of course, will be extremely pleased by the news that Pereira looks set to commit his future with the club, especially after the departure of Frenchman Paul Pogba a couple of years ago.
Under the Sir Alex Ferguson regime, Pogba failed to gain a place in the club's starting XI, so ultimately left on a free transfer to Italian outfit Juventus. Since his Old Trafford departure, he has gone from strength-to-strength in Turin and is now recognised as one of the leading midfielders in world football.
Hand him a loan deal
It appears, though, United aren't prepared to take that same risk with Pereira, who may well become a star in years to come.
If Pereira does sign on with the Red Devils, then the club should probably look to hand him a loan deal for the 2015/16 campaign. First team football on a regular basis would be great experience for the youngster before returning to Old Trafford to fight for his place in the side.
