The war of words between Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and his Chelsea counterpart Jose Mourinho has been a staple of life in the Premier League since the latter’s return in 2013. Mourinho last week laughed off claims from Gunners fans that his Blues side were boring, aiming an indirect jibe at Wenger by saying it was boring not to have won a title for a decade. Now Wenger’s had his retort and, you guessed it, he’s fired another subtle barb at his long-term rival. Wenger said certain individuals needed to improve their respect and, whilst not mentioning Mourinho by name, referred to the pair’s touchline spat of last season.. Sneaky indeed Mr. Wenger. In transfer news the latest is that Arsenal are to rival Manchester United for the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan. The German international has confirmed he won’t be renewing his contract with the Bundesliga giants, leaving the door open for a Premier League move.
