Ray Parlour reveals player good enough for the Invincibles

Published Add your comment

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has been fairly vocal recently on all things Gunners-related, but his latest statement might just cause some controversy. The former midfielder revealed his belief that only Alexis Sanchez would have been good enough to get into the famous Invincibles squad from the current setup; a claim that might disgruntle more than one of the Chilean’s teammates. Sanchez has been in fine form, netting 16 goals during his debut season in England, but would he have been good enough to joust for a starting spot with the likes of Thierry Henry, Freddie Ljungberg and Robert Pires? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments box below. Sticking with Sanchez there’s other news suggesting he might be missing from the start of Arsenal’s campaign next term, depending on how Chile do in the Copa America. The likes of Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil were given extended leave after the World Cup last summer, so here’s to hoping Chile crash out early on.
