Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has denied that he was ever interested in signing PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay. Manchester United sealed a deal for the Dutch youngster yesterday amidst reports that Liverpool were trying to sign him - however Rodgers says that wasn’t the case. It seems as though Depay could be the first new arrival of man at Old Trafford, with the Telegraph reporting that Van Gaal will have £200 million to spend in the upcoming window. The paper claims that the likes of Edison Cavani and Gareth Bale are amongst his targets. And on the same note the Mirror are reporting that Van Gaal is keen to get all his spending done before Manchester United embark on their pre-season tour to America next month.
