Incoming Manchester United ace Memphis Depay waved goodbye to the PSV faithful in style yesterday afternoon as he starred in his final home game for the club at the Phillips Stadion.

Depay, who is set to move to Old Trafford for the 2015/16 campaign after the Red Devils agreed a fee with his current club for his signature, struck home a wonderful free-kick in his side's 2-0 victory over Heracles in the Eredivisie.

Ultimately, Depay has now moved to 22 league goals for the campaign and now looks set to win the Golden Boot in the Dutch division, having moved three goals ahead in the pecking order of Luuk de Jong.

And his 22nd league goal of the campaign was quite special: from 35-yards, the youngster took a quite brilliant free-kick as the ball flew over the wall and into the bottom corner of the goal to settle the game for his side.

In fact, that goal was his seventh strike from a free kick this term, whilst it was the 50th time he had found the back of the net for PSV in 123 appearances.

United free-kick taker

One thing's for sure, when Depay arrive at Old Trafford before the start of next season, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal will have quite the dilemma on his hands as he goes about selecting the club's free-kick taker for next season.

United certainly have a number of talented players from the dead-ball position: the likes of Wayne Rooney, Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria have all found the back of the net from free-kicks during their careers, but Depay may well be the best of lot.

On current form, Depay may well propel right to the top of Van Gaal's list, which will only excite the Old Trafford faithful.

Wonderful signing

There's no doubt about it, even when you take away his ability from the dead-ball situation, the Dutch international will make a fine signing for the Red Devils.

Depay is full of talent and is the type of player who will excite fans of the club. Quick and powerful, despite only being 21-years-old, he will offer United a great deal when roaming around the final third of the pitch.

He's certainly an exceptional talent and one that may go on to great things at the Theatre of Dreams under the guidance of Van Gaal.
