Aston Villa won't try and block Christian Benteke joining Manchester United in the summer - if the Red Devils offer £32 million.
That's according to the Mirror who say Benteke, who has seven goals in his last seven games, will make a decision over his future in the summer.
Manchester United are expected to be in the market for a new striker in the summer, with Radamel Falcao likely to be sent back to Monaco at the end of his loan spell at the end of the season, and Benteke could well be their man.
The Belgian international struggled at the start of the campaign under former Villa boss Paul Lambert having overcome a serious knee injury, but has found his best form since the arrival of former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood arrived at Villa Park.
Since the start of March, the 24-year-old had managed an impressive 12 goals in his last 12 appearances for both club and country - and that form has seemingly caught the eye of Manchester United.
Benteke has two years left on the this contract with Aston Villa and according to the Mirror they will accept a £32 million offer this summer in order to avoid risking losing him for nothing if the striker refuses to commit his future to the club with a new deal.
The former Genk ace was seemingly close to leaving Aston Villa back in 2013 after handing in a transfer request, but he performed a u-turn and signed a new deal - and the Villains want to avoid a similar showdown if they can get a big fee for their star player.
However Manchester United could well find themselves challenged by rivals Liverpool who are also said to be in the market for the forward.
The Mirror report that Benteke will make his final decision after taking part in Belgium's games against France on June 7 and a vital qualifier away to Wales five days later.
Manchester United may view Benteke as a safe alternative after seeing Falcao struggle in the Premier League, while there are also doubts about Robin van Persie's future too amidst reported interest from clubs in Italy and Turkey.
For some time now Manchester United have been linked with a host of top names including Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo, and it is interesting to see Benteke linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
The Belgian would be a shrewd buy - either side of his knee injury he has been a proven Premier League striker and is a nightmare for the very best defenders. He'd be a good fit for the Red Devils too and his physical presence means Louis van Gaal could jettison Marouane Fellaini and slot one of his big name creative players in behind him.
Do you think Christian Benteke is good enough for Manchester United or Liverpool?
