Tom Brady has had to endure a difficult offseason so far with the star quarterback managing to create plenty of negative headlines in the past few months.
The negative headlines for Brady started before the New England Patriots won their fourth Super Bowl title in January. Two weeks before their historic win over the Seattle Seahawks, Brady and the Pats became embroiled in a saga that has now become to be known as deflategate.
New England were accused of deflating several footballs during their AFC Championship Game victory over the Indianapolis Colts, with their star signal caller accused of ordering team officials to deflate the balls so his team could gain a competitive advantage in the game.
Brady a cheat?
Many fans and ex-players have labelled Brady a cheat for his part in deflategate, and following an investigation of their own, the NFL suspended the four-time Super Bowl winner.
But for current players to call Brady a cheat is another thing. Indianapolis Colts players have been very careful to not use the "C" word when it comes to Brady, but Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett obviously didn't get that memo, according to reports today.
"Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett had this to say when asked by TMZ whether he considers Brady a cheater: “Yes.”"
"Bennett, who seemed barely interested in talking while waiting for his luggage at an airport and repeatedly checking his phone, acknowledged that there was no cheating in Super Bowl XLIX, that the Patriots blew out the Colts in the AFC title game regardless of any cheating, but that Brady “cheated that one game.”
"Bennett also said he believes the four-game suspension of Brady will be upheld."
