WWE: John Cena proves he's still a monster with stunning video

Football News

John Cena has been coming in for a pretty tough time of late from WWE fans who argue the veteran Superstar is past his best.

Some of those critics are adamant that, after over a decade at the top of the business, Cena's character has become slightly stale.

Still got it

A stunning new video posted by the Superstar online today, though, pretty much blows out the water any criticism that he is no longer capable of competing at the top level.

Just three days out from his latest title defense John Cena is clearly in no mood to lay down and let his challenger, Rusev, come in and grab the United States Championship he has held since WrestleMania 31.

And he might have just taken the first step to retaining his title, posting a video on his official Twitter account that will have even the mighty Rusev worried.

That is a 600 pound weight that Cena is lifting.

Even his biggest critics would have to sit back and admire the fact that the veteran is still capable of pushing himself to such extremes.

With Rusev likely to enter the ring Sunday night weighing a little over 300 lb maybe we should expect to see John Cena getting a few more lifts in in front of the primetime audience. That would certainly take this feud to the next level.

The inspirational message that accompanies the slow-mo footage meanwhile is yet further proof that, no matter how many times people try to tell him he "sucks" or that his career should be over, John Cena remains one-hundred percent focussed on the task at hand.

When John Cena swaps the gym for the ring to take on Rusev at Payback this weekend the match may signal the end of a feud that has rolled on since before WrestleMania.

Many people believe that Cena is poised to keep hold of the title but there could be some surprises in store with reports today suggesting that Rusev's sidekick, Lana, might be involved in a character turn that sees her abandon the Bulgarian brute in favor of his American opponent.
