Professional wrestling can be a harsh place to earn a living, there is no doubt about that.

Even those wrestlers who make it to the very top of the business can fall on tough times when their luck changes.

And, for one WWE Hall of Fame inductee, that looks to be what has has happened judging by a desperate message he sent out on social media this weekend pleading for help the WWE Universe.

Abdullah the Butcher, a wrestler famed for being involved in some of the most gruesome matches in history, revealed online that he is being sued by a wrestling promotion back in his native Canada. In the message the 2011 HOF inductee asked fans for help and donations of any sort.

Per NoDQ:

Fans, family and friend, I am being sued by Devon, a Canadian Promoter, who was a promoter of all my fights in Canada due to the doctor's orderin reference to the severe condition of my hip and other health issues, I was not able to make the court date in Canada.

"Letters was sent out to them twice. Approximately twelve days ago, they have come to the USA and served me with papers. Due to my condition, it's been approximately a few years since I have been able to work.

"Believe me, it's taking a lot out of me, asking for your assistance and donations or or if any of you out there practice law or know of an attorney in the Metro Atlanta, Georgia area, please email me...This is an urgent matter."

Legal trouble

Despite never wrestling in WWE or WWF, Abdullah the Butcher is a well known wrestler due to his controversial use of extreme violence in matches.

That violence has caused him some serious trouble in recent times. Back in June 2014 fellow wrester Devon Nicholson sued Abdullah for $2.3 million after claiming the veteran had infected him with hepatitis C when using his famous razor blade to draw blood.

It now looks like Abdullah the Butcher is facing further legal trouble and, with recent reports he was trying to sell his Hall of Fame ring, he is clearly desperate for financial assistance this time around.
