WWE: Five shocking predictions for the next year

Given the ending to Payback and the many routes WWE could take to allow the product to progress forward, I think there are some bold routes that the company could take in order to shock the fans much like the break-up of The Shield and the ending of The Streak did last year.

1. Dean Ambrose to win MiTB

It's almost written in the stars, The Lunatic Fringe was added to the fatal-four-way match on a whim and no longer has a claim to the title. How could you possibly leave the combustible element that it Dean Ambrose out of the World Title picture?

Ambrose is so over as a face right now that it's hard to see where he will go leading up to Money in the Bank in a months time, but you have to think that him with the briefcase teasing an upcoming rivalry with Seth Rollins for the world title is a storyline that WWE would not be able to resist.

2. NXT Star to win Royal Rumble

I think it's time that WWE gave the future a chance. Yes there are superstars like Bray Wyatt who probably deserve the opportunity at a World Title or to Main Event WrestleMania, but WWE needs to show they believe in the future and someone like Finn Balor or Sami Zayn winning the Rumble and cashing in at Fastlane would work just as well.

It could be one of the more long-shot predictions but with the depth of the talent in NXT, any of the superstars in the development territory could step up and deliver on the grandest stage of them all. WWE just needs to give them a chance.

3. Shield Triple Threat at WM 32

I know, we've all been waiting for this match to happen since the split almost a year ago and it could finally happen at WrestleMania 32. If Roman Reigns wins the title from Rollins at Fastlane then he will have a legitimate cash in clause for WrestleMania and Ambrose only has to add his briefcase to the mix.

It may not happen this way, Rollins could go into WrestleMania as the champion and Roman or Dean could win a number one contenders match or even Roman wins MITB and Dean wins the Royal Rumble. There are so many ways this could be set up. But next year is the most appropriate time for it.

4. Kane to retire at WM 32

Is he still relevant? Is he still needed in WWE? Yes, when Kane turns back into the monster he will be a force to be reckoned with and could even be the main threat for Rollins World Championship in coming months.

Kane deserves one last run as a monster before he bows out and hopefully he and "brother" Undertaker will be allowed to take their bows together on the Grandest Stage of them All.

5. Ambrose to become Champion

Who knows when this will happen? This year? I think so. I think the upcoming match at Summerslam will see Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar vs Seth Rollins and I think Roman Reigns will come out on top. If Roman does come out on top, much like Summerslam 2013 Dean Ambrose can run out and cash in his briefcase on his former friend and subsequently turn heel.

The Lunatic Fringe is in the driving seat in WWE right now and is so over as a babyface that a heel turn would complete the shock of the year. I think WWE are aware of this and will try and set it up so that former "brothers" Roman and Dean can collide over the title and lead up to a Shield Triple Threat next year. This would also put Roman over as an uber face if Dean becomes a mega heel.  This was where Dean was always supposed to be, the Jon Moxley character should have been used a long time ago and fans appreciate that.

As stated, these are bold predictions and could all come true. It is dependant on how WWE want to book their show, but as booking for shock factors go. These would be impressive.
