Jose Mourinho has revealed that he will have no say in where Petr Cech will go if Chelsea sell him this summer.
The Chelsea goalkeeper is set to leave Stamford Bridge after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order.
Cech has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe but it seems the 32-year-old is keen to stay in the Premier League.
Having granted 11-years of service to the Blues, Abramovich wants to repay the Czech Republic international by allowing him to choose his next destination.
Unfortunately, the situation has come at the perfect time for Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal, who are in dire need of a world-class goalkeeper ahead of next season.
Arsenal calling
Arsene Wenger has seen both Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina flatter to deceive and the goalkeeping department seems like one real weakness in the Gunners squad.
“If it’s in my hands, he would never go. He would never go to big clubs and fantastic teams, big candidates who want to win the Premier League"
Mourinho would loathe to sell Cech to a direct Premier League rival and would rather force Cech, who earns £120,000-a-week at Chelsea, to see out the last 12 months of his contract as reserve, but he has now confirmed the decision does not rest with him.
Mourinho's moaning
"My perfect scenario is that he stays with us. He belongs with this club, and this club belongs to his history and his life," he told TalkSport.
“He’s a fantastic goalkeeper, a fantastic squad man in the dressing room. I tried to prove the respect I have for him by playing him in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup final.
“I played him in the Champions League. I gave him matches in the Premier League.
“I tried to make him feel important, as he is, but I can imagine at 32 or 33, he still feels young and has the passion and desire to play every game.
“If it’s in my hands, he would never go. He would never go to big clubs and fantastic teams, big candidates who want to win the Premier League. I would never let him go, but it’s not in my hands.”
Other interest
Cech seems to prefer staying in London where is family are settled but he may also have the option of making the short journey to Manchester, where United are starting to show some interest.
Louis van Gaal looks set to lose David de Gea to Real Madrid and Cech is considered one of few goalkeepers who could fill the Spaniard's shoes.
Liverpool are also interested but Brendan Rodgers faces to prospect of selling Simon Mignolet if Cech arrives.

Should Roman Abramovich really sell Petr Cech to Arsenal or Manchester United?
