Real Madrid to offer Keylor Navas as part of De Gea deal

Real Madrid will offer Kaylor Navas as a sweetener in any deal for David de Gea this summer, according to the Mirror.

De Gea has so far refused to sign a new contract worth £200,000-per-week at Old Trafford which means that as things stand he will walk away for nothing when his contract expires next year.

According to reports De Gea, who was crowned Manchester United's player of the year earlier this week, is keen on a move to Real Madrid - who are lining him up as a replacement for veteran Iker Casillas.

The Red Devils are desperate to do all they can to keep hold of their best player this season but will reluctantly let him leave for a figure of around £30 million. Real Madrid are unwilling to pay that sort of money for a player who is out of contract next year, and are willing to offer closer to £20 million.

The Mirror say that a compromise could be reached by including Navas in the deal. The Cost Rican was one of the stars of the World Cup but has struggled for game time this season behind Casillas.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal snapped up former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes on an 18-month contract in the January transfer window who would make an ideal replacement - however he's reportedly considering signing an alternative which could make a deal including Navas more attractive.

Tottenham's Hugo Lloris is said to be his top target should De Gea leave - although Van Gaal was adamant on Friday that the Spaniard will eventually decide to stay put.

"I believe still that David De Gea shall stay," he told reporters ahead of their game against Hull today - a match which De Gea may miss because of injury meaning he may well have played his last game for the club.

Who will David De Gea be playing for next season?
