Louis van Gaal challenging the Old Trafford board to spend

Published 1 Comments

Louis van Gaal knows he will be expected to challenge for the Premier League title next season and has in turn publicly highlighted the importance of the board allowing him to have a good summer transfer window. Speaking candidly on what must be done before his second campaign in England kicks off, the Dutchman put it to the board to assist him in getting the right targets for the right positions, with a number of names having been linked with moves to United. The likes of Gareth Bale, Mats Hummels and Paul Pogba find themselves most commonly associated with joining Van Gaal’s project, with Memphis Depay already signed ahead of the window’s opening. On a more specific transfer front Nicolas Otamendi’s agent has confirmed his client will seek an exit from Valencia if he has an offer. United are said to be interested in the Argentinian in a bid to improve their back-line.
