Arsene Wenger considering a shock swoop for £3 million striker

If Arsene Wenger’s serious about finding a competitor for Olivier Giroud’s role as the spearhead of Arsenal’s strikeforce for next season fans will expect all sorts of transfer sums to be bandied around. What they won’t expect to see is the likes of Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno linked with an Emirates Stadium move for just £3 million. Regardless of that though that’s the rumour doing the rounds this morning, with the La Liga hit-man the latest name supposedly on Wenger’s radar. The unfancied Moreno bagged 16 goals in 27 games this year, and at 23 he’s got plenty of time to develop. Will fans be frustrated if Wenger adds another player of potential rather than the finished product? We’ll leave that question with you. Moving on we turn to Theo Walcott, who is set to have new contract talks after the FA Cup final as Wenger looks to cement his future.
