Juventus still chasing deal for Chelsea's Oscar

Juventus are still hopeful of agreeing a deal for Chelsea star Oscar this summer, according to Italian publication Tuttosport.

The report–brought to our attention by talkSPORT–claims that the Serie A champions are ready to open talks with the Blues over a deal for their Brazilian playmaker.

Oscar had been a key player in Jose Mourinho' Premier League winning squad at the start of the season, linking up impressively with both Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, but his form took a noticeable turn for the worse in January.

Reports have suggested that the 23-year-old could be the next big name to leave Stamford Bridge, following the likes of Juan Mata and David Luiz out of the exit door.

Both deals have worked well for Mourinho, who managed to reinvest the reported £87m it generated for the club into signings like Costa.

Ready to sell?

Oscar's dip in form lead to suggestions that his time in west London was coming to an end and Juventus wanted to take full advantage.

However, the Italian outfit have received no suggestion from Chelsea officials that Oscar is for sale, but will go ahead and open talks after their Champions League final with Barcelona anyway.

Juventus would reach immortality if they beat Barcelona and complete a historic Italian treble, but the manager Massimiliano Allegri is already looking at ways to strengthen the team.

Pogba sale

But a deal for Oscar may only be viable if they are able to cash in on Paul Pogba. The midfielder, who himself is a target for Chelsea, has been tipped to be the biggest transfer of the summer.

It is thought a transfer of around £75m could be in the offing with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United all ready to make an offer.

Juventus would be willing to cash in on the Frenchman as they know it would allow them to sign several quality players, like Oscar, to make up for his departure.

They are confident that they could emerge stronger without Pogba should they manage to sign their top targets.

Ruthless Mourinho

Mourinho will certainly consider selling Oscar as he has previously shown no hesitation to punish players who rest on their laurels.

If Oscar is not willing to put in the work that Mourinho demands of his players then it is likely he will find himself on the plane to Turin very soon.
