WWE: Tyson Kidd reportedly suffers spinal injury in match against Samoa Joe

The WWE have been having a terrible time with injuries as of late.

Former tag team champions The Uso's haven't been seen on television since WrestleMania thanks to Jey Uso suffering a shoulder injury in the run-up to the WWE's biggest show. Goldust has also been out for a significant period, while Daniel Bryan was forced to give up a title for the second time in a year as he re-injured his neck.

Things have been just as bad in NXT where two top stars aren't set to return for months. Sami Zayn and Hideo Itami both got hurt within weeks of each other, with Zayn suffering his injury whilst making his RAW debut against John Cena.

Potential Spinal Injury

And now things could be set to get even worse, with one superstar potentially suffering a very serious injury. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Wrestling Inc, Tyson Kidd may have suffered a spinal injury.

"One WWE talent noted to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Tyson Kidd may have suffered a spinal injury in the RAW dark match loss to Samoa Joe on Monday night," they wrote. "Kidd did receive medical attention after the match was over."

WWE reportedly has a new policy of trying to keep injuries as secretive as possible, which is apparently why there are so few details out about what is wrong with Kidd.

But something does finally make sense however. Earlier this week, Natalya - who is married to Kidd - told fans on Instagram she was going through some challenging times but indicated it was family related.

She followed that up today with a tweet mentioning Kidd, saying that she is grateful to the people who have reached out to her and offered their support to her and the family.

Samoa Joe Shocker

The injury reportedly occurred while wrestling a match against the debuting-Samoa Joe tapings for “Superstars.” Kidd reportedly took a bad bump during the match that left him needing to be checked out by officials.

It is said the injury occurred when Kidd was taking a muscle buster from Joe. He reportedly landed on the base of his neck, instantly putting pressure on the area. If this were the case, it would support both reports of a neck and spinal cord injury of some sorts.

Cesaro and Kidd have been pulled from all future WWE tapings and house shows, while it seems certain that the muscle buster - Samoa Joe's finisher - will be banned, despite it being a complete accident and not the result of it being a sloppy move by Joe.
