Arsenal must sign striker Gonzalo Higuain in order to challenge for the title next season. That’s according to former Gunners’ striker John Hartson who says his former side need to spend big to build on their progress for this season and Higuain is the man for the job. Staying with the Napoli forward and Italian newspaper Gazetta della Sport say that Arsenal have indeed made an offer for him. They say Wenger has tabled a €40 million bid but Napoli are holding out for €50 million. And finally the Evening Standard are reporting that Wenger is yet to make his mind up over whether he should sign a defensive midfielder. Francis Coquelin filled the role this season but the French boss could still look elsewhere.
