Golden State Warriors win game one

We begin in the NBA where Game One of the 2015 Finals series is in the books. The Golden State Warriors edged a tight game 108-100 after overtime, with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combining for 47 points. LeBron James managed 44 for the Cavs but failed with a buzzer beater attempt to grab the win in regulation time. Sticking with the Finals series and Cleveland are once again sweating on the fitness of Kyrie Irving. After shrugging off tendinitis in his knee to play last night, the point guard was forced out of the game in overtime when he fell awkwardly on the same knee. Initial reports revealed no damage to Irving’s ACL or MCL but the team is awaiting further test results. Finally, in the NFL, the New England Patriots had a worrying glimpse into life after Tom Brady yesterday. Jimmy Garoppolo, the man who will replace Brady as starter for the first four games of the 2015 season, threw five interceptions during team OTAs.
