Eden Hazard is now worth more than Cristiano Ronaldo

He may have scored double the amount of goals, recorded almost double the amount of assists and be recognised as one of the greatest players of all time already, but Cristiano Ronaldo is worth less than Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. That’s according to the CIES Football Observatory, whose latest offering has worked out the most valuable players in the world based on nine metrics including age, experience and achievements. Barcelona sensation Lionel Messi naturally reigns supreme with a valuation of between 250 to 280 million euros, whilst Hazard comes in second and Cristiano Ronaldo just third. We’re not sure we agree, but then what do we know? Meanwhile Gonzalo Higuain could be the man to replace Didier Drogba, according to reports. The Ivory Coast international is taking his leave of Chelsea for a second-time this summer and Higuain has been one of the names mentioned with regards to filling the void he leaves behind.
