New addition wide receiver Andre Johnson of the Indianapolis Colts has started mini camp alongside quarterback Andrew Luck.

Although Johnson has not been a Colt for long, it hasn't taken long for his new teammate to make an impression.

Indeed, Johnson has gone on record to state that Luck is the best quarterback in the NFL.

Johnson stated, "He's a hell of a player," before adding, "I think he's the best quarterback in this game."

Luck was excellent for the Colts in 2014 and has registered a massive 12,957 yards in his first three seasons in the NFL. With star quarterbacks such as Tom Brady of the New England Patriots and Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers in the prime of their careers they are big statements to come from the wide receiver.

Arguably however, Johnson might have a point come the 2015/ season which kicks off in less than 100 days.

High praise

Luck, 25, has already earned the respect of many of the NFL's top players already in his young career. Denver Bronco's pass rusher DeMarcus Ware agrees with Johnson in saying that Luck is the best quarterback in the league:

"I think the toughest quarterback that guys are facing is probably Andrew Luck," he said.

"He's one of those guys where usually a quarterback will try to scramble out of the pocket. He doesn't. He scrambles into the pocket. And so he'll let guys corral and get outside of him, but he'll go into the pocket and throw a javelin. So he's one of those guys who's hard to defend."

The main cause of concern to most defenses which face the Colts is that Luck not only possesses an excellent arm but his ability to use his feet to get him out of troublesome spots in the pocket.

Luck is athletic and quick, all elements which add to him being a top level quarterback. Luck led the NFL in touchdown passes in 2014 also which proves that his arm can match that of Brady, Manning and Rodgers.

Big things ahead

The Colts will be looking to reach the SuperBowl next season and arguably they will be ready to do so.

With a leader like Luck at quarterback and the recent acquisitions in free agency, the Indianapolis side will cause major problems to defenses next season.

The recent signing of free agent Frank gore from the San Francisco 49ers is a huge addition to their squad. Gore is a five time Pro Bowl running back will add an important dimension to the Colts dressing room with his experience.

Gore should provide the perfect running back to partner Luck as he is also an excellent blocker which will help to create more time in the pocket for the arm of Luck.

A betting man would have a good punt on the Colts reaching the SuperBowl come the end of the season, especially when you remember the team fresh from reaching the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots.

The Colts were unsuccessful at this hurdle but will have gained experience and a know how which should lead them in good stead for the upcoming NFL season.
