Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has revealed on Facebook that he will make a decision over his future after this weekend's European Championship qualifier with Gibraltar.
The German international will be hoping for a starring role tomorrow before making a decision over his long term future in the game, with a number of Europe's elite clubs seemingly interested in his signature.
Gundogan, of course, is set to run out of his current deal with Dortmund at the end of next season, and it has been claimed that he will move on sooner rather than later.
There's certainly a great deal of interest in his signature, with the Premier League duo of Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly ready to bring him to England for around £20.5 million, while Spanish giants Barcelona have been heavily linked with the midfield ace of late.
It appears, though, that he still hasn't made a decision, as he took to social media to give fans an update on his current status in the game.
It's far from certain as to whether the Manchester United hierarchy will step up their interest in the midfielder anytime soon, but fans of the Red Devils will most certainly be hoping to see their club improve in the middle of the park.
Quality for United
One thing's for sure, the signing of Gundogan would prove an inspired one from Louis van Gaal and Co., as the club look to return to the summit of the Premier League table.
When you take out his long term injury, the German international has enjoyed a great deal of success under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp in the Bundesliga, and would no doubt have a key role to play at the Theatre of Dreams.
At the end of the day, Michael Carrick certainly isn't getting any younger and his injury problems over the course of the last 12-months or so may well concern Van Gaal and Co.
One signing in the middle of the park would prove ideal for the Red Devils, who are starting to put together quite the midfield, with the likes of Angel di Maria, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini, Daley Blind and Co. all plying their trade at the club.
There's no doubt about it, though, Van Gaal will need his full squad fit and firing all season long if the Red Devils really are going to mount a Premier League title challenge and compete on the European scene. It's a huge summer ahead for all involved at Old Trafford.
