As they sat watching yet another of their peers suffer a scary looking injury, the WWE main roster would be forgiven for worrying who was next in the aftermath of Monday Night Raw.
With the likes of Daniel Bryan, Goldust, Rusev and Sami Zayn all having succumb to various injuries since the turn of the year the crisis continued on the company's flagship show.
Rumors that one Superstar had been carried out of the arena on a stretcher were soon confirmed by the WWE themselves who added to the concern by positing a video showing the wrestler being loaded into an ambulance back stage.
The latest star to suffer injury was Jamie Noble, one-half of the infamous J&J Security. According to the WWE themselves the injury came "at the hands of Brock Lesnar during The Beast’s brawl with The Authority at the end of Raw."
Noble was thrown from the ring into a barricade by Lesnar but, rather than getting up to challenge the giant wrestler, Noble was carried away in a stretcher and wasn't seen for the remainder of the show.
There is, of course, a chance that the injury is simply part of the storyline that builds Brock Lesnar up as an unstoppable force but, at this stage, most reports suggest that Jamie Noble came to legitimate harm in Indianapolis last night.
The WWE posted the following video showing the Superstar being taken away by the emergency services.
As with the WWE's recent official statement on the injury status of Tyson Kidd, their message concerning Noble failed to identify exactly what the issue is. The video, though, does at least appear to show the wrestler moving his arms slightly which must be seen as a positive sign.
As alluded to earlier in the piece, the WWE has endured a torrid time with injuries in 2015. Not only have they lost big name stars like Daniel Bryan to recurring ailments, but in-ring accidents have also seen Rusev suffer a broken ankle while Tyson Kidd is believed to have suffered a neck injury.
Only time will tell when Jamie Noble will be able to get back to his role as The Authority's security, but for now he looks likely to join his fellow wrestlers on the sidelines.
