We begin in the NBA where the LA Lakers continue their attempts to manufacture a trade for Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins. Despite the Kings’ recent insistence that Cousins is not available, the Lakers were given reason for optimism today when the player himself tweeted out a message seeming to criticises new coach George Karl. Across to the NFL and the Cleveland Browns have claimed former Raiders and Bengals quarterback Terrell Pryor off of waivers. Pryor won’t be competing with Josh McCown or Johnny Manziel, though, after confirming yesterday he plans to transition to wide receiver. Meanwhile, in baseball, rookie sensation Kris Bryant produced his first multi home run performance in the Majors as the Chicago Cubs beat the Detroit Tigers 4-2 last night. And finally, in soccer, the US women’s national team has progressed to the quarter finals of the Women’s World Cup after a 2-0 win over Colombia. Up next is China on Friday night.
