On June 27 the WWE held a house show in Boston featuring some big names such as John Cena, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.

But nobody in the crowd would have expected to hear the theme music of The Rock blast the PA system as he made a surprise appearance.

He didn’t compete in a match, he was in the area as he was filming his latest movie ‘Central Intelligence’ alongside Kevin Hart.

Towards the middle of the show, the inspirational Bo Dallas was inside of the ring and in his usual fashion, he ridiculed Boston and even made fun of their beloved Tom Brady of the New England Patriots - calling for the Quarterback to be banned for life.

This prompted The Rock’s music to hit and The Great One made his way to the ring, engaging in a verbal battle with Bo Dallas and it was only ever going to head one way.

Bo Dallas made the huge mistake of saying The Rock was jealous of him and ate a Rock Bottom and a People’s Elbow for his troubles, to the delight of the Boston fans in attendance. You can see the video of their confrontation below.

The Rock is no stranger to surprise appearances, last year he made a shock return to Brooklyn when he confronted Rusev and Lana before appearing at the Royal Rumble to help out his cousin, Roman Reigns.

He also had a huge WrestleMania moment a few months ago when he confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon before bringing out Ronda Rousey out to the middle of the ring as they cleared the ring.

Various reports online have provided the results of the Boston house show which featured some big name superstars and big matches to match them.

Ryback defeated Mark Henry in an Intercontinental Championship defence, hitting the spinebuster and a frog splash for the win. Neville defeated Kofi Kingston of the New Day in what was described as a match where both stars displayed their athletic ability, with Neville hitting the Red Arrow for the win.

A strange tag team match also took place as Macho Mandow and Curtis Axel teamed up to take on Luke Harper and Heath Slater, with the Meta Powers picking up the win.

Another big return occurred on the night, Sheamus and King Barrett fell short to the team of Dolph Ziggler and the returning Chris Jericho who is said to have received a great reaction and even got on the microphone before the match and called out Sheamus for his haircut.

Jericho went on to pin King Barrett to hand his team the victory.

John Cena defeated Kevin Owens by disqualification and it’s being reported that this was the match of the night and the fans were into it. Some new moves were on display which should be on show in their match at Battleground and Kevin Owens was disqualified when he hit Cena with the low blow.

Following The Rock’s surprise appearance, Nikki Bella defeated Paige and Naomi, Roman Reigns fought Bray Wyatt to a double count out before hitting the Spear to keep the fans happy whilst WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose in a steel cage match to close off the night.
