Arsene Wenger could struggle to hold onto a key star

There can be little doubt that Santi Cazorla is pivotal to Arsene Wenger’s plans for next season, but the Frenchman might just be made to sweat over the little Spaniard if Atletico Madrid have their way. Though it might sound strange that Atletico’s and Arsenal’s transfer dealings this summer could be linked, it’s being reported in Spanish media that Atletico could push to sign Cazorla if they lose the services of Arda Turan. The Turkish midfielder is wanted by both Chelsea and Manchester United, further complicating matters, with AS newspaper describing Atletico’s longing to take Cazorla back to Spain as an ‘old dream’. Make of that what you will. Elsewhere it’s now been claimed that new Arsenal signing Petr Cech made the decision to leave Chelsea immediately after the Capital One Cup final. The veteran stopper penned a deal with the Gunners earlier this week, and could well be Arsene Wenger’s number one heading into the new campaign.
