Arsene Wenger is ready to sell as many as six Arsenal players this summer as he attempts to overhaul his squad ahead of next season, reports The Sun.

The first to go looks likely to be Lukas Podolski, who is closing in on a cut-price £1.5 million move to Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Podolski became something of a fan favourite during his time at Arsenal, but fell our of favour with Wenger last season, later spending a disastrous six months on loan with Inter Milan.

Currently earning £100,000-a-week, the Germany international is the highest earner on Wenger's transfer list and will free up significant funds when extending the contracts of other players.

David Ospina, Joel Campbell, Yaya Sanogo, Carl Jenkinson and Mathieu Flamini make up the rest of the list with all being deemed surplus to requirements by Wenger.

Ospina became the first-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates in the latter half of last season and enjoyed an impressive Copa America, but looks set to be the victim of Petr Cech's arrival.

Wenger has more vested in Wojciech Szczesny and the Pole is said to be ready to stay and learn of the former Chelsea star. Ospina could be on the move to Turkey alongside Podolski with Besiktas already meeting Arsenal's asking price of £4m.

Sanogo & Campbell

Sanogo has failed to impress since signing on a free transfer from Auxerre in 2013, scoring just a solitary goal and also disappointed during a loan spell with Crystal Palace.

Similarly, Campbell arrived at Arsenal with it all to prove, but could not win a first-team place in front of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. He too disappointed during a six-month loan spell at Villarreal.

Wenger is still an admirer of Jenkinson and is keen to get him on another loan deal somewhere in the Premier League following an impressive season with West Ham.

However, Wenger has Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers vying for a place at right-back, leaving Jenkinson with little or no prospect of winning a place in the Arsenal starting XI.

The one-time England international has already rejected the chance to join Sunderland on loan and the Hammers are now pushing for a permanent transfer worth £7m.

Finally, we have Mathieu Flamini, who rejoined the club for a second spell in 2013 but has since found himself marginalised by the emergence of Francis Coquelin.

There is currently little interest in the Frenchman but Arsenal hope to attract clubs by asking for as little as £1m.
