Manchester United are planning to bid for World Cup winner Thomas Muller, after reports emerged detailing a rift between the Bayern Munich star and and his manager, Pep Guardiola.

German website Sport1 has claimed that Muller and Guardiola got into a shouting match during training earlier this week, during which the Germany international reportedly shouted: "So I can leave then, can I?"

United interest

Muller allegedly apologised for his outburst afterwards, but the potential rift is thought to have attracted the attention of Louis van Gaal, who used to manager the player.

Now the Dutchman is reportedly planning a £58million bid to lure the front man away from the German champions, believing that enough to convince his club to sell.

Good relationship

Van Gaal and Muller have known each other for many years and are said to have a a great relationship.

The Dutchman will be hoping he can persuade Muller to join him at United this summer, with the German previously having admitted he was honoured by their interest.
