Dallas Cowboys have the best fans in the NFL according to one study. Yes, you read that correctly.
Despite not having won a Super Bowl since the 1995 season and having only appeared twice in the playoffs in the last seven years, Cowboys fans have always been passionate and behind their team.
According to a study called Emory Sports Marketing Analytics' 2015 NFL fan equity rankings, they're the best fans in the league.

Pro Football Talk interviewed the website's Manish Tripathi about the findings. He said:
“We focused on using hard data to determine which NFL team had the most avid, engaged, passionate and supportive fans. By hard data we mean data on actual fan behavior. In particular, we are focused on market outcomes like attendance, prices or revenues.
“We use fifteen years of data on NFL team performance, ticket prices, market populations, median incomes, won-loss records and multiple other factors. We create statistical models of box office revenue, and then see which teams over- and under- perform the model’s predictions.”
A break down to their method of finding the best fans in the NFL is available in full detail here.
There isn't a right or wrong way to analyse who has the best fans in any sport because of the so many variables involved.
If you are able to sit through a cold winter night at Lambeau Field watching the Green Bay Packers play, you could be described as being part of the best fans in the NFL as you are able to put up with the conditions.
If you are able to make the most noise possible to throw off your opponent from scoring a touchdown, like the Seattle Seahawks fans do at CenturyLink Field, you might be considered the best fans in the NFL for helping your team win.
In terms of the Cowboys, they are great at marketing themselves. This is one of the reasons why they are top of this list.
Nevertheless, the measuring stick they used in this study shows Cowboys have the best fans, followed by the New England Patriots, New York Giants, Baltimore Ravens, and the New York Jets.
Surprisingly, spirited fans such as the Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers finished seventh and 14th in the list respectively.
At the bottom of the list were the Miami Dolphins, with the Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills completing the bottom five.
Until one of those teams wins the Super Bowl, I don't think they will be moving away from the bottom of the table.
