Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes new signing Petr Cech can help bring more success to the club.
The Czech international goalkeeper is the big-name arrival at the Emirates Stadium this summer, as manager Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen in defence ahead of a Premier League title challenge.
Back-to-back FA Cup victories have brought silverware and success to the Gunners, but the domestic championship is the one they really want and Oxlade-Chamberlain is confident Cech can help the club make the next step.

“He’s been one of the best goalkeepers in the world since I’ve been watching football. I can’t really remember two goalkeepers who have been better than him,” he told Arsenal Player.
“To have someone like that sign for us is a great thing and brings a massive boost to the changing room to have that experience and quality coming into the side - it can only help us. The fans are all excited about it and the players feel exactly the same way.
Premier League challenge
“We’ve had a little bit of success in the last few seasons with the FA Cup but we want to go and replicate that in the league. To have someone who’s done that on numerous occasions in Petr, that winning mentality is massive."
Oxlade-Chamberlain is also predicting Cech to be an influential voice in the Arsenal changing room this season, as they look to challenge the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
"I’m sure he’s going to be a voice who can talk to us and let us know where we need to go and what we need to do to achieve that"
Wenger's side won their last English title back in 2004 and lack experience when it comes to winning that particular trophy. 33-year-old Cech has four league winners medals in his pocket, and could become crucial should the new season go to the wire.
Dressing room voice
“In terms of our approach at any point in the season, he knows what it takes to win the league. I’m sure he’s going to be a voice who can talk to us and let us know where we need to go and what we need to do to achieve that," he added.
“The group that we’ve got here, everyone’s a really good lad, and I’m sure that everyone’s going to be very open to listening to someone like him, taking everything he says on board. It’s a great signing for us and it’s invaluable what he’s going to bring.”
Both Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cech have made the trip to Singapore as part of Arsenal's pre-season preparations, with games against a Select XI and either Everton or Stoke City awaiting the side.
The Gunners will also face Chelsea in the FA Community Shield at the start of August before starting their Premier League campaign against West Ham.
